AGFEST

There is something for everyone at AGFEST, from farm machinery displays and fine Tasmanian foods, to craft pavilions and fashion parades.

Each May, Carrick plays host to AGFEST, one of Australia’s biggest agricultural field days. The three-day event is staged by the Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania and is held at Quercus Rural Youth Park on Oaks Road between Carrick and Bracknell.

From relatively humble beginnings, the event now attracts around 700 exhibitors and over 75,000 visitors each year, and is considered to be one of the state’s premier events.

Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival

Held from 5-7 February 2010, the Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival is a celebration of the diverse forests of the Great Western Tiers through art, music, walks and workshops. The festival is an intimate, regional, family friendly Tasmanian event with a sustainable living focus.

Tasmanian Craft Fair

Each November Deloraine bursts to life as it plays host to the Tasmanian Craft Fair, an event that attracts over 30,000 visitors to the area and showcases a range of local artwork from pottery to paintings, to furniture.

Spreading over 12 venues and incorporating around 200 stalls, the Tasmanian Craft Fair offers plenty of activities for kids and shopping for adults. Also a feature of the fair is a fantastic range of gourmet foods, including pancakes with fresh Tasmanian berry sauces, Cajun calamari and Tassie lamb kebabs.
