Exton is a small town on the B54, just off the main highway from Launceston to Devonport.
The original 'Exton' estate was the property of the Reverend Samuel Martin, who arrived in 1833.
The original homestead was rebuilt in 1850s, and the property has passed through a number of owners since.
The drive through Exton takes you past a number of classic federation houses, and the village is surrounded by a pretty rural landscape.
Take the back road to Liffey or Golden Valley for more spectacular rural scenery.
Thornby Cottage is a great place to look for antiques
