Description
Frank and Julia with three dogs, Ruby, Gem and Pearl, donkey, a dozen sheep, assortment of bantams, two ducks, 70 cows and 2,500 blueberry plants. At the front gate guests can be accommodated in either the farm cottage or ensuite units. From the verandah of the units, looking east and north are magnificent views of the ocean, mountains and forest. The four units can accommodate three doubles and one twin share. The cottage overlooks the garden and, to the west, the rugged twin volcanic cores of the South and North Sister. This accommodates seven people (single beds only) in three bedrooms with shared facilities. A large well equipped kitchen and lounge with wood fire are available to all guests. All is set in a hectare of landscaped garden filled with the sights and sounds of many species of native birds. The farm is approximately 160 hectares, 69 hectares of which have been put under conservation covenant. This means none of the protected forest can be harvested – ever.
