The main building of Mayfair on Cavell was built in 1915. Bernard and Matty Ludeke bought this in 1967, modified it with various rooms and added the motel rooms on. Commencing operation in 1970, Bernard died only five years later. Matty has been the sole proprieter since and only retired at the end of 2007. Her nephew Michael Ludeke now manages Mayfair on Cavell for her. Matty passed away in August 2009 and now MIchael is continuing her work. With 24 standard, spa and apartment rooms and only being 1.5km from the GPO, Mayfair on Cavell offers quite and affordable accommodation. Within 2km of Salamanca and North Hobart, we also are idea for those requiring corporate accommodation. Some restaurants and take-aways deliver to rooms and there is a small pub serving meals and Italian restaurant right around the corner. Cooked and continental breakfasts can be ordered to your rooms.
