Cedar Cottage - Meander

Description

Description

Premium self-catered accommodation at the foot of Kooparoona Niara, the Great Western Tiers, Tasmania. Located minutes from World Heritage wilderness, Cedar Cottage Meander is a hand-built cabin perfect for couples and small groups. Known as the 'Mountains of the Spirits' to the local Pallitorre people, this area encompasses wild wilderness like the virgin rainforests found in the Meander Forest Reserve, to the alpine moorland gardens on the escarpments above. Furnished with warm Tasmanian speciality woods like deep red Myrtle and Black-heart Sassafras, Cedar Cottage Meander is a unique and beautiful space. With a full chef's kitchen, fire-pit and grill, plus exclusive access to an organic kitchen garden, you can enjoy fresh Tasmanian produce exactly how you like it. Whether that means cooking up a storm or indulging in a divinely delicious food hamper from the nearby Tasmanian Food and Wine Conservatory or from one of the many cafes in Deloraine. The choice is yours. The local Meander River Cafe offers real coffee and well-priced lunches too, it also functions as a post office, general store and great place for a yarn, in the tradition of all good rural towns. You'll find an appreciation of craft everywhere you look, from the old mortice and tenon joints, to the hand-made Huon Pine kitchen, the post-and-rail fences made from hand-split hardwood, to the block-printed cushion and yukata robe fabrics. We've decorated the cottage with relaxed comfort in mind, using natural materials like wood, linen, cotton, jute, down and wool. There's a little bit of quirk added to a whole heap of style. Unwind in the cedar hot tub on your private deck overlooking the mountains, look out for curious wildlife and take in the pristine beauty of an uninterrupted night sky. Enjoy a guest library with a focus on contemporary Tasmanian authors, as well as a number of coffee table, art and hardcover books. We haven't scrimped on technology. This might be the bush, but you can still enjoy unlimited, fast WI-FI, smart lock entry (no more fumbling with lock boxes in the dark), multiple USB charging points, a BOSE Bluetooth speaker, a smart TV and programmable electric blankets. Enjoy fly fishing, bushwalking, river sledding, horse riding, canyoning, caving, cultural tours and other adventures, or just kick-back and enjoy the tranquility with a good book from our complimentary library. Relax and rejuvenate in comfort and a little bit of luxe. You deserve it.
