Description

BOOK ONLINE THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. This is more than a farm tour - it’s an invitation to slow down, feel closer to the land and the stories behind your food. Indulge in the very best of Tasmania’s farming, food and wine culture. We run a small number of farm tours during the warmer months, when we have plenty of ducklings and the farm is at its best. Lone Goose Farm is a small, pasture-raised Muscovy duck farm in Birralee, 35 minutes from Launceston in Northern Tasmania. Established in 2019 and recognised with a delicious. Produce Award, we raise our ducks on open pasture using humane, hands-on methods. From March to September, you’ll find our ducks on the menus of some of Tasmania’s best restaurants. During duckling season, we welcome small groups for farm tours, with the option to stay on for a relaxed lunch by the dam featuring some of our favourite Tasmanian produce. On the tour you'll: Walk the farm with us and learn how our ducks are cared for at each stage of life Hold a duckling and give our Jersey cows a scratch. Spend unhurried time outdoors with the animals and the people who care for them. Tours are intentionally limited to just three per week, keeping group sizes small and the experience unhurried. After the tour, you’re welcome to stay on and enjoy a relaxed lunch by the dam and experience living at Lone Goose Farm. Our grazing board happily feeds two people and showcases some of our favourite produce from the island. We are licensed, so you can enjoy a bottle of wine whilst you graze away. Again, we've chosen some of our favourite Tasmanian wines - we might just have a glass with you. Platters and wine are paid for on the day, just let us know when you book if you're planning on staying.
