The Arm River Track is a diverse ascent through lush forest to an alpine plateau. It is the only major route from the east to the central part of the Overland Track.
The track climbs steeply through rainforest and stands of tall eucalypt before branching out on the plateau. From here the track is relatively flat and passes Lake Price, Wurragarra Creek (via a narrow steel bridge), Lake Ayr and eventually reaches Pelion Hut.
The track can be done as a long day walk during summer hours or as an overnight trip.
Time: 8 hours return (min)
Grade: 4: Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.
